90% plus of people read and plan, but never actually try?
Seriously, why do people not do stuff (like try making some money online) that they don’t actually have to do? That is a great question. I have taught you guys at least 3 ways on this blog to make enough income to support yourselves. But how many people actually did it and succeed? How many times have you read other blogs that tell you how to make $100 plus a day, why would they give that information away? Because the blogger knows that most people will just read it and not excuted it. Giving the blogger more traffic and only a little bit more competition.
My asian sensation friend John Chow wrote a blog posts today explaining why he keeps writing personal blog posts [on his personal blog]. He explained that there is no special formula, there isn’t a easy button you can push to make money.
Thats a great post. It falls into my theory of keeping it simple stupid. My thery for generating income online is:
1. Get traffic
2. Monetize it
3. Repeat
ITS FUCKING SIMPLE!
Make a website, do some link bait and seo, slap adsense on it. Rense & repeat. Build 50 content sites. You will probably make enough money to live off them. You just have to know how to do it right… and that is where the trail and error is.
There is no way you can make xx,xxx a month without knowledge. You have to gain knowledge, and that is from trail and error (and sadly college doesn’t teach it, but thats a whole other blog post).
I told the writer working on my sales letter for whoisseo.com to enthesize how important it will be to actually work hard on what we will be teaching you at Whoisseo. We will give you the knowledge and tools to make money online, but you have to actually work to make the money. We wont be giving you a easy button that you push to make money, no one can do that.
One more example before I stop ranting, I will be teaching both my roommates a process that is making me about $500 a day. The same info I will be teaching you guys with Whoisseo.com. I bet you they wont do it
So back to my question… why do people just dream? Why don’t they try?

I have fallen into this trap myself. I’ve read a TON of blogs and I’ve put into practice about 1% of it. Now I’ve realised this: You pretty much can’t lose if you make a website. The worst that can happen is that you lose a few dollars on a domain name and a year’s hosting. And who knows, maybe it will make some money. Either way, just do it, then get on and do another one. Your 1-2-3 pattern is exactly right.
P.S. I enjoy this blog a lot, but you need a spell checker!
Hi Jon,
The question you have raised is a mulit million dollar question.
“So back to my question… why do people just dream? Why don’t they try?”
From my personal experince it boils down to one thing, and one thing alone…..
“SELF IMAGE”… how the person percives himself/herself, do they see themselves as making money or some extra money…. if they cann’t then the battle is over they might run up the hill but will not conqure it.
A person has to raise his/her SELF IMGAE not matter how, no matter how long it takes.
I encountered the same situation… I wanted to share a technique I have used which can make you earn enough $$$ to live, but I didn’t want to have too many people using it, because I had created scripts to help people doing the technique… All it requires is around 1h per day and I give it away FOR FREE!!! Guess what? I still have people open slots and new people getting in to all the stuff, knowledge and month of work I spent on it, I chewed up most of the work for them, and STILL only A COUPLE of people are ACTUALLY executing it!!!!
So why 90% of people read but never actually try?
For me the answer is the same to : Why did people invent the elevator?
Because people are lazy…
it is easier to dream and complain than to actually put oneself to work.
No such thing as some magic fairy dust that can get sprinkled over your websites and make them hits. It’s hard work. A lot of learning, mistakes, failures, but then you get a hit and it’s all work it then.
people dont try people because one) it seems to hard, and two) more importantly THEY DONT WANT TO INVEST THE TIME AND MONEY if there not GUARANTEED it will pay out.
You are absolutely right. Most people are just plain lazy or wait for a fucking magic fairy that will do it for them. I moved my ass but I made a mistake (which I am correcting): I built a single website. $1K of AdSense/month was cool, but not enough. So i finally moved my ass and started other projects, more lucrative. And the learning is in the process. All the fucking time!
How did I miss this post? But so true ! Very good post! I see a lot of ppl to getting to me with “big” ideas but never tend to complete them!
Action is the key !
