I’ve owned a few online services in my days, but this one is by far the most successful one I’ve had yet. I launched Buy Blog Comments a few months ago after coming up with the idea after talking to Eli. I was telling him about my little army of blog comment writers to help my seo empire grow, and then the idea came into my head… why don’t I resell the comments?
After about a month of planning, making the website, getting all the bugs fixed, hiring people, and so on… my new company was ready. And I had the perfect marketing plan for it. Since this is more grey hat marketing, I will get all the pure whitehatters to talk about it in the blogsphere. So a few days before launch time I collected about 300 emails and contact for urls and got the mini news release I would send to all the bloggers ready. The night before I officially launched the website I sent off all the emails. After I was done sending them off I took a break and played some halo with my roommate for a little while, I came back and I already had 20 blog posts about my new service, and it kept growing from that point.
Wthin 24 hours I had gotten 12,000 unquies and a lot of orders with NO advertising costs.
With Buy Blog Comments I have made a decent amount of money from it, but the work load is also pretty high. I spend about 2 hours a day just replying to support emails and getting my writers work. I would love to tell everyone how much mula I have generated from this service, but I have to keep that a secret for obvious reasons. I can tell you that I get a few sales a day, and I have NO form of advertising at all, right now its word of mouth.
Since this is my first successful e-commerce site, I have learn from my past failures (most people fail 3 out of 4 times). Here is some stuff I have learned:
1. Write your systems out to follow
When I say systems, I mean how your company works, how it generate a profit, how much you get to spend on beer, how much is reinvested, etc. I do it with all of my company’s now, infact writing the system out takes the most amount of time for me in launching a new company (I am still working on my new companys system). Be professional about it, go buy some of those nice looking clear covers and get a filing cabinet, make your home office feel like a real office!
2. Support!
I really didn’t know how much time I would spend on this, and I didn’t know how much of an impact support would have on my company. I believe that support is more important than sales, because most of my customers are return customers.
3. Sales presentation
If you notice on the website, I give a lot of details on buying comments works. I believe that the more details you have, the better. Thats why those 20,000 word sales letters generate such a high CTR, they really work!
4. Produce a good service
You will get more sales with this, don’t make a shit product and put all your resources into marketing, that is for such term investments. Instead take a pay cut and make a great product, you will make a lot more money in the long run.
That is what I have learned, and I am still working hard on protecting those ideas. Now here is what I am currently working on:
1. A customer admin panel (programmed by me yay!)
2. marketing
3. video presentation
4. sales letter (I told you they work)
5. adding more products
Buy Blog Comments will be a long term company for me, I believe that blog comments will always help your websites so there will always be a demand for them. Especially if they look like real comments
Also, I have been working night and day on my seo empire, it should be all done within the next few days. I will than make a script that can target certain words within the network and sell some links on them. If you interested send me a email.
If you enjoyed this blog post than I think you should subscribe to the RSS feed. That way you can learn a lot more from me and laugh some more at my really bad grammar. Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

made me laugh - “I mean how your company works, how it generate a profit, how much you get to spend on beer, how much is reinvested, etc.”
Nice to hear it’s doing well. Do you plan on doing the sales letter yourself? Or hiring out? I’m going to need to write one of those soon.
Im curious, how much are commenters paid?
Guitar Hero, sorry but I can’t say that.
Thats cool. I spend a bunch of time on the comp. I wanted to see if it would be worth it to inquire about being a commenter.
