CPM Abri - Lets Go!

Well it looks like a few of you are getting the right idea on the lasts posts comment area. A few have mentioned that you guys have the idea, but just don’t know a good place to send the traffic. Finding the right place to send the traffic is the hardest part. But its also the most important. In my years of doing arbitrage I find that generally networks WANT your traffic, but they just want it under the counter and without anyone knowing.

I will be referring to the place that I send the ads to as the feed. A feed is usually a mix of ads that are from big ad networks (such as Yahoo), in-house advertisers, and sometimes a mix of everything. The feed works the same way as regular Adsense. The better your CTR the better your CPC. If your getting like a 60% CTR then you might be getting $0.40 CPC, but if your getting a 10% CTR then you might only be getting a $0.08 CPC. Thats the same way Adsense works. So you need to work on that CTR. And the only way to do that is to find targeted traffic.

One ways to get targeted traffic is using Adwords. I know of at least 2 people that are doing $600 a day using this method. But the other way is to buy up private traffic from quality sites, which is what I do. I find people who have great sites and cut a deal with them to buy impressions from them for a certain price. The sites I currently use sell there traffic for $0.18 CPM. And the feed I will be sending the traffic to will be about $0.30 CPC. My ad will be clicked on about 1.5% CTR. I am hoping to get at least 40% CTR on the feed. I will probably break even the first few days, but after that I want to make at least 70% ROI. Am I loosing you yet? Anyways, the advertiser I found currently has about $300 a day of traffic to buy up. My goal is to turn that $300 a day into $500 a day. That is a pretty big goal but I will at least be making $100 a day profit, but my goal is to make $200 a day profit.

Tomorrow is the first day of testing, I will be testing with $52 worth of CPM ad space. That should hopefully sent me 600 uniques to my feed. And if at least 200 people click on ads on the feed I will break even. From there I will tweak and tweak until I am spending $52 and making something like $100 a day. Then just buy more traffic and keep tweaking until Im at there max and Im making $200 a day profit. But we will see. With my luck I will probably be negitive the first few days until I tweak everything around.

Meanwhile you guys will be learning to how eaily make money. I swear to god it only takes me like an hour a day to manage all this shit once its set up… just imagine making $6000 a month working 20 hours a week? AND this is plus that 10k I make a month from my SEO shit. Oh not to mention the vacations I can take every 4 months because of all the points on my credit card. Man its tough in this line of biz :)

But thats if everything going according to plan… which it wont. Wish me luck!

P.S - I also think its way funny that back in high school I failed math horribly. I never believed that I would be using the shit that they tough me back in the day. But now I regret not learning more math because I use math all day long now. I am always solving for X and doing pretty hard math. I should have used that free schooling to my benefit back than lol.

Good luck with that $200 per day, I’m surprised arbitrage still works. Then again I’m no PPC expert, I object to paying for my traffic :)

I totally agree with the school bit. You never realise how good it was until you leave. Spoon-fed free learning.

Ryan - This isnt PPC. I suck at PPC, this is CPM traffic. :)

  3. Ryan Blakemore Says:

Yeah, you’re right, not sure why I was thinking about PPC to be honest. Mind went off on a tangent I think.

So is the feed just a site you set up with the ads you’re going to make money from on?

  5. Will Foley Says:

Hey Jon, Good articles so far. I was wondering if you are placing text ads?? Also are you just using a parking company to supply your feed?

  6. Jon Waraas Says:

James & Will - Sorry i didnt make it clear, I will be using a domain parking place for my ads. As for the ad type, I will be using graphic ads at first and maybe trying some text ads.

    PMed you on WickedFire Jon.

  8. altek Says:

so where is the traffic coming from?

  9. Jon Waraas Says:

I will go into that more later. But I found a small company that sells cpm traffic for a certain niche. But there are lots of ways to get traffic, like buying up private traffic…

  10. James Says:

Thanks for clearing that up Jon :) This sounds like it could be interesting, I’ll make sure to follow your progress.

Totally off topic, but has anyone noticed that Tyler Cruz’s entire network of sites have been offline for 24+ hours? I’m guessing his server has died and hopefully he’s working on getting back up soon.
Anyone heard what’s going on with him?

  12. Eva White Says:

Hope you achieve your targets. But I have noticed one thing the money part comes in only after you have a PR to your site. Till that it’s only hard work. Good luck….

  13. Jon Waraas Says:

steve dowripple - who cares about him? lol

Eva - There is no seo involved at all with this. So PR dosent matter at all :)

I’m still not getting it Jon…A domain parking place? like SEDO.com?
I’m very confused about the entire thing. I understand the traffic part, but the feed thing is where I’m getting lost. Perhaps you could show us a feed (not yours) to start off with…

  16. Jon Waraas Says:

Racing Games - A feed as in what your using on your website :)

But I will make a post about that tomorrow

Hi. Good luck with this idea. I’ll be reading frequently. I have a website I started a few months ago and am just now getting everything going. Is the feed something you can use on your website with adsense or is it just an string of advertisements that you’re sending the traffic to?

  18. Wade Says:

I did the stats for adsense and imo it isn’t worth it till you get enough money from other areas to play with adsense. My total traffic was going to be like 250 estimated hits. You could do way better pushing your content to multiple social networks. Also you could spend 500 bucks on advertising on sites like John Chow. I think $250 for JC for top ad space, and like $100 on Tyler Cruz.. You will see more traffic by spending $500 bucks on paid ad space/mo than adsense.
