I’ve had the same toolbar on my network sites since 2005. So I think its time for a change don’t you say? Last night I made a deal with my designer roommate that if I do write up telling him how to get seo his site to get ranked for some of the top keywords in his niche, he would redesign the toolbar. Well the deal has been made and now there is a nice new shinny toolbar on all of the networks websites, all 18 of them.
The old toolbar had a javascript dropdown menu with links to all the websites within the network. I decided to take that out this time. The javascript didn’t validate and to tell you the truth I’m not sure it helped with SEO a lot. I will be adding more internal linking within the network to make up for that. However, this time around I added a link on the toolbar that goes to a page on developerhut.com with a list of all the websites within the network. I also added some others that dont get that much traffic to the webpage.
I also added a link for advertisers to click, I hope to get somemore private advertisers that way. The design of the toolbar’s is a glossy web 2.0 feel. The coding is in div’s this time, when I first made it in 2005 it was in html (I didnt even know what div’s were back in the good old days). So that cut the size of the toolbar by 3/4′s. I made the coding simple in hopes to get that extra speed in loading up the page for the end user.
I will be doing somemore changes to my network this week. I have already updated the toolbar and website so that is out of the way. My job now is to set up php includes on the footer of all the websites so I can easily add text links when I get sales. I will also put up text-link-ads on all of the websites within the network in hopes to bring in even more ad sales. I will also go though and add more content to all of the websites. And finally I will be investing in some time to get somemore backlinks for the websites that arn’t doing so well seo-wise.
As you can see on this blog post. Developer Hut, Inc. only makes up about 33% of my total monthly revenue. I hope to get my seo empire done getting set up so I can start spamming err I mean building backlinks for that soon. Once that is done I will focus my full attention on my whitehat e-commerce sites. Ill be busy this winter
Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

Enough with the lady pictures already.
haha thats the last one i promise..
Been following your blog since August ’06. I’m curious – what makes up your other 67% revenue? I assumed last year that your main MySpace site (LoserAlliance) made up the bulk of your money, but the traffic on it seems to have went down a great deal since the market is flooded.
I wont say what exactly makes up the other %. Part of it is BuyBlogComments.Com and I am working on 3 more e-commerce sites. I wont say what the other thing I do is though, but it has to deal with seo
if that helps
You have nice roommate… very good and original design. I also think that the drop down manu with your network sites was not good for SEO.
Is your roommate still available for work like this? I also need a network bar. If he is, he can contact me at my website listed here or email.
