Finding The Best Phone Support Solution
Published On February 4th, 2010 by

Ok so I have been working on this for the last week and I still have not found a good customer phone support solution, so maybe someone that reads this blog can help me.

My problem: I have 3 totally different business that we need to answer customer support phone calls for. Right now they are all using the same phone number which is Skype. I need to a way so that all 3 numbers go to just 1 phone (preferably a cell phone). I need to be able to see who is calling the phone and what number they are calling so we can answer them appropriately.

Solutions I have Found:

Below are some solutions I have found.

Normal Lan Line With Multiple Lines: This is a possibility, the only problem is that it would cost like 50-70$ per month because of the different lines and from long distance callers, I get a lot of callers from India, Japan, etc.

SecondVoice.com: This company makes it so you can have 2 numbers on the same phone, I am not sure if they allow 3 phone numbers. That is the only problem with these guys.

3 Different Phones: This is a possibility, but it would be a pain in the ass.

Those are the only good solutions I have found so far. I looked into using Twilio but with that solution I would need to do a bunch of coding… which I don’t have time for :(

If you know of a better solution then let me know, I’m open for all ideas :)

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

What about using 3 Google Voice accounts and have them all forward to 1 number?

I thought it was possible to have multiple numbers for the same Skype account, did they change that?

Like you buy 3 numbers – one US, one Japanese and one German and all calls to them are directed to your 1 skype account, which in turn can redirect it to any phone, fixed or mobile.

Oh, just remembered. Check out RingCentral and Grasshopper.com (which Andrew Warner always mentions in his interviews). They might have what you need…

http://les.net runs a VoIP service, you can get 3 DIDs and forward them to another number.

Should be fairly cheap to do what you’re trying. I have several DIDs through him and have been happy.

You can try to redirect the calls from 2 Phones to the Third. It`s a simple solution.

I can’t vouch for it, but take a look at an Ooma hub. Maybe pricey to set up, but I think you can set up to nine different numbers to it and assign different ringers to them.

lol wow, i have the exact setup you are looking to do.
I use one land line via Magic Jack, then I have my freedomvoice number forwarded to the one line. When someone calls, it shows up on the caller ID: business 1, or 2, etc.

line2.com looks similar to secondvoice in that it seems to be only 2 numbers… look into the parent company of line2 at toktumi.com as well

How about instead of 3 different numbers just using one number but with extensions (like pressing 394) that takes you to the different business.. using ringcentral.com

Maybe three computers with three skype numbers would be an answer?

I’m in a similar situation but it’s 4 numbers instead! Let me know if you come up with a solution.
