Legit Backlinks
Ive been doing this for a while now for some of my small websites. Its no secret and its not easy, and only works great for MSN and Yahoo.com search because they don’t give a fuck about the nofollow tag. And, it seems like it works for google a little bit also.
All I do is search in google for the tags on wordpress.com. So if I am getting backlinks for Teton Apartments, all I do is search for “real estate wordpress” and this was the first entry. I then scim the blog posts on wordpress search pages, and then write a comment to go along with there blog posts. I do that until I get tired of doing that.. If I spend an hour or so doing that, I can get up to 25 backlinks that way. And that will definitely help out a website with little competition for a keyword. Works great for MSN and Yahoo.com.
Update On Hours
For those of you that are interested in my work schedule, here it is..
Sat:
6-8 (who works on weekends?)
Sun:
6-8 (Easter)
Today:
5-7ish
11:30-now (I should be on till about 2-3)
7 hours in 3 days is no good, but it was a holiday weekend, and I am pretty much caught up in my work. Those 2 hours a day are spent checking emails/stats and playing around with them aff links. However, I do have funnyloser.com coming out this week, so I will be working a lot on Tuesday/wednesday night. It will be fun. I’m at 21.5 hours and still have 3 days left, I should be up to 35 no problem. I figured I worked 30 hours a week, so if I at least get 30 hours than I wont have a fit about not working hard enough..
Classified Ad Update
I’m up to 6$ now and 519 views. Lets test some other ways out now..

yeh you cant expect to put in a lot of hours on a long weekend. $6 from the classified ad isnt the best return, especially from 519 views, maybe even with some posters put around schools with the url there, could work also.

That would also be another viable search option, up to you. As someone could be using a static custom blog option and are talking about switching to wordpress.
You could also automate that shit using the wordpress footprint and a few PHP skills, up to you

Hi Jon this is a great follow link tip that I will most def use.
Yahoo seems particularly open to this. Check almost any blog on the seomoz.org ranking tool and the links into a site shown by yahoo is always 10-100 times that Google reports.
I tried to do this for my science blog (scifreak.com), but there was a lot of junk all thrown around in there. I should probably try again, but it is frustration. This is a great idea, otherwise, though. Thanks!

I was looking at some of my sites in googles webmaster tools and they have actually listed as external links some of my comments in wordpress, not sure if it’s helping my PR any though.
I have yet to try to this but i think i may just put this into practice to see where it takes me…
