Google Now Selling SEO Services
March 12th, 2008 by Jon Waraas
With the recent purchase of DoubleClick with EU approval Google also purchased performics.com which is a SEO and SEM company. Now there is nothing wrong with SEO, Google says it themselves, but its wrong when the SEO is done by Google themselves. Conflict of interested? Google is now officially selling SEO services…. what do you guys think about this?
Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

I wonder if they bought the company just to see what the users and clients were doing, to be able to cut down the number of people trying to game Google’s system. I doubt that they will be selling SEO & SEM services because that would be downright cheap, crass and would hurt their image – it just isn’t worth it. I think they will analyze everything that the company has been doing up until now and use it to polish their algos.
Probably the same people at performics will stay to work there, and Google will only use their techniques to improve their search algorithm. I don’t think they bought it to really sell SEO services! Its all for TEH GOOGLE
The don’t care to spend a few million extra on that! More info for them!

I had a look at the performics site and they seem to do a lot of research into how different users use search engines. My guess would be that google has bought them for the information they have found out. Not to mention performics have collaborated with Microsoft and now google has their research!
I think that Google knows what they are doing! It will be useful for both: them and webmasters like we are…
