So I helped this one kid a few months ago by giving the kid marketing tips on his porn site. I learned a lesson about teaching kids how to market there porn sites. The lesson is that they will start bashing on you a few months later. Haha.
Notice how I didn’t mention his name. Because that would be kinda wrong, much like his porn site. Anyways, he seems to not care about any of that stuff and tell people that I dont really make money off of my network. He also says that people such as tyler cruz makes a lot more money than me from his 2 sites with lots of content. And I don’t make that good of money because my websites are really cluttered with ads and I don’t have that much content on them. Haha

After cooling down I though about what they said. Even though none of them make any real money, I decide to put there ideas and my ideas together. LOL. So over the next few months, I will be adding lots of content to all my websites. Good news for my content adders ehh? LOL
I agree that my websites don’t have that much content on them. So I will be adding tons of content to them. So I will end up with a bunch of websites with a bunch of content.
That all leads me to my next point… what do you guys think is better? Great content on a few websites, or decent content spread through dozens of websites?
I choice spreading decent content through dozens of websites so that I will have a wide range of traffic. You have to remember I am a publisher. I make money off of traffic. Not content. I get traffic from content, so I have just enough content to make people happy. Haha
Also, I have some more great news! I will announce another blog site tomorrow! This will be the big blog site I have been talking about, not just the small ones…

Tip - “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”. By spreading your resources over your entire network, you have ensured that, if one or two sites fail, your others will still support you.
I think that “kid” (yes he is one, a very immature one, hence why I don’t post on YE anymore) is just jealous of your success and is trying to slate you by any means possible…35 layouts is more than enough!
I’d certainly add more content when you have time, it’ll better your site by adding value and increasing the time each unique surfs it for. Not only that, each new page brings more ads!

I felt like posting a response on YE in your defense, as I am a member there as well.. but I figured you can handle yourself and these kids won’t listen anyways.
I’ve gotta say that have a lot of websites is better than one or two. If you only have two sites and then google bans one for some reason, you’re screwed!
By not having all your money invested into 1 site, you can afford to lose one or two out of 40 and you won’t be hurt financially.

I never said you weren’t making money. And second, I’m not jealous. Sure I’d love to make over a thousand a day but that’s not what matters most right now. When I’ve compared your website to other sites, I found you had less content. I wanted to simply pose the question: Quality or Quantity? Third, you didn’t help me with advertising. You pointed me to Yahoo advertising and told me that you make a lot of money from their program. Fourth, I never said Tyler made more money than you. If I were you, I’d go back and read my posts more carefully before you paraphrase me again. By the way, aren’t entreps supposed to take constructive criticism?
Oh and by the way, who was it that introduced you to Web 2.0? Ruby on Rails? And Wordpress? ME!
I agree with khalidslife,you should spread your content. Actually it’s very logical. By puttin all your content on 3-5 sites you put a big risk on if the sites will be a success and make money. So spread it
And about the kid(reid): I don’t think your post on that forum was very constructive. he helped you with giving some info about the Yahoo advertising system,and then you tell bad things about him. Isn’t that a bit lame?
At this point, it’s not worth my time trying to explain my side of the story. Think what you want. I know what I said and what I didn’t say. That’s all that matters.
Yeah, im going to leave this whole thing alone. Its just not worth it. That reid guy has a lot to learn about how business and money works… he will learn someday. Until then, I will be driving around in my 06 truck, and playing with all my toys. hehe

jon, I read your blog off and on and really respect what you’ve managed to do. You’ve definately zeroed in on the current trends and monetized them well with a large network of small sites. On the other hand, there are definately some benefits to focusing on large sites rather than small ones.
