I made $30!

Reviewme is a advertising network much like payperpost. The purpose is to have bloggers (like me) write about advertisers products on there blogs. Such as I am doing now. Right now I am doing a paid plug for ReviewMe.Com, and I’m getting paid $30 for it! I have had this blog for almost 8 months now and so far I have not made 1 cent from this blog. So its nice to finnally make some money off my blog.

I signed up for ReviewMe after JohnChow and TylerCruz did blog posts about them. And if you don’t know me by now, I try everything! It took me less than 1 minute to sign up, and about 50 seconds of that was searching for my tax ID number. After I signed up I submitted my blog and got accepted right away. ReviewMe pays you 50% of what they charge the advertiser, which is a bit lower than what I would be making from Google Adsense or YPN (I think they are in the 60%-70% range). But i’m still ok with making 30$ to write in my crappy grammar for about 15 minutes about an advertisers product.

You get paid by how well your blog is ranked in Alexa, Technorati, and how many RSS Readers you have. The more stars you have the more cash money you get paid. I have 2 stars so I will make $30. Its a really bad way to rank a blog in my option. Alexa has a really bad way of ranking sites, they rank sites by how many people with there toolbar visit a certain website. So if 100 people with the toolbar go to msn.com during one month, and only 90 people with the toolbar go to google.com that same month, msn.com will get a better alexa ranking. It also looks like there Technorati and RSS reader stats don’t work right. It says that I have a better Technorati rank than John Chow (Everyone knows that is not true). And it also shows that I have 0 RSS Readers. They have some work to do on there blog ranking system, but that seems to be the only downfall.

One thing you have to consider is that you have to tell everyone that you are getting paid to write a blog post. You also have to do at least 200 words in your review, which is really easy (this review is at 500). On there FAQ page they say “We like to keep the guidelines loose, so bloggers can write in a way that makes sense for their unique niche and audience.”

If you sign up today, you can do a blog post such as what I am doing right now. Just sign up and then click on the “$25,000 Giveaway” image in your control panel.

In conclusion I really do like ReviewMe. There ranking system needs some work. But everything else works fine. Now lets see if I really do get paid and see if anyone else signs up to get reviewed by yours truly :)

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.
