I Would Be So F*in Rich If…

Ok, listen up. I’m sitting here on one of my many projects this month that will probably pull me in an extra xx,xxx a month. No big deal. Anyways, while I’m sitting here working my ass off for a messily $xx,xxx a month I’m thinking that I would be so very rich if I knew the knowledge I knew now… 5 years ago.

If I knew what I know now five years ago, I would be creating adwords campaigns all day, buying a shit load of domains, and doing tons of adsense seo shit all day long. I would be making $xxx, xxx a month easily. Which isn’t bad at all.

It just makes me think, what will be making tons of money 5 years from now, and what do I need to know now to get to the xxx,xxx a month range. Because, slowly, more and more people will be getting into SEO and adwords shit, giving us all more competition… we just have to figure it what doesn’t have any competition right now.

When I figure it out, I will buy myself a Ferrari for a job well done :)

I’m not sure that you have to find a niche that doesn’t have competition to make great money. Sometimes you just need to find a niche, establish yourself and scale your efforts and you can make great money.

In terms of what will be big in 5 years. That’s a hard. Things are in a huge state of flux with technology progressing very rapidly. However, I see big money in energy and food.

Food costs are increasing and finding ways to produce quality food at affordable prices will be huge industry.

Finding new ways to store energy, harness it and use it more effeciently will where the money is at.

Oh yeah and of course affiliate marketing, arbitrage and cpc will never die. (gay)

I recently had this conversation with a friend and I was like fuck, if I could just go talk to myself when I was in high school I’d be ridiculously rich right now and doing something way cooler than commenting on some lame ass blog :-P

When you have bought yourself a Ferrari, you will share your thoughts with us I hope. My own guess, will be that we will all be back to the good old days of normal living.

What have you been doing the last 5 years? Have you only just decided to take internet marketing seriously, or have you been steadily learning over the last 5 years.
I still have to congratulate on getting tens of thousands of dollars a month! That is pretty good to say the least.

Do you know what? I think about this myself all the time. Not just the knowledge but the tools also. I think webmasters waste too much time experimenting and doing things that might not always work. If only I did not have to do this.

Wow, the thoughts right out of my head. The thing is, we should just start now and then in 5 years we’ll look back and smile instead of looking back and wishing :)

Doesn’t really matter what’s hot and working in 5 years if you focus on “selling shovels to the gold miners”. It sounds stupid, but in almost every market you can see some people who make money that are not fighting in the trenches, they’re supplying people with tools or information to do something. Just like during the gold rush, the people who really got rich were the guys selling the shovels.

I wouldn’t worry too much about more people trying to do what you do. So many people just talk, and read about making money online, but so few ever take action and make an effort. And of those that do, lots more run out of patience and quick because they’re not rich in a week. Those that are persistent, and stick with it will always do well.

Life is not just about missed opportunities. I know in hind sight we should have bought heaps of domains, but did we know it then?
Guess the next best thing to do is look out for what next comes our way.

Jon,

I think we all wish we could turn back the Tivo of life but it is just simply not possible. You gotta look at it like this… Regret is something that just wastes time while searching for that next idea. The less you think about what you could have done, the more you can think about what you can do in the future. Now I normally don’t post on people’s blogs but I thought since you’re so good at Call of Duty 4 a comment was in order.

ps: I da ho. Sorry. Couldn’t resist……

5 years ago, there wasn’t this much competition and anyone could’ve made it big if he/she has knowledge about all this :) Look at blogging…it’s getting bigger and bigger each day.
