I got back from snowboarding a few hours ago and I am tired. It was really ice up on the mountain (Grand Targhee), it sucked but I still had a lot of fun. I am really sore and tired right now. I am also kinda pissed because it just snowed about an inch outside, I should have waited till tomorrow to go. Well shit happens.

InteliTXT
If you haven’t noticed, I have signed a new advertiser to work with Developer Hut, Inc. So far the ads are on this blog and the two forums in the network. I am working on the foul language on the network tag board, as soon as I get that done I will be adding the ads to the rest of my network, the bigger hitters.

I am very pleased to be working with them. I hope that we will form a great partnership. I am also hoping to make some extra cash money with these ads. They are the ones that make a green link lookin thing on random words, if you hover over the link then a little ad will come up. I checked everyone’s TOS and I am for certain that these ads fall within everyone’s TOS.

It did take some negotiating to get accepted. My myspace resource websites didnt have that much wording content on them, so I had to add some words to all the sites, which should help with SEO. But I know that having the ads run on all my network sites will make a profit. I will even place them on my test sites, after I talk with my rep.

Top Commenter’s
I was reading Eli’s blog, which is a very very good blog, I noticed that he added a show top commenter plug-in to help give back to his blog’s community. And I thought that was such a good idea that I copied him, there I said it, I copied another one of Eli’s suggestions.

The top commenter plug-in will help us both, me and you. The top 10 people with the most comments will have a back link on every page of this blog, which will help them a lot! What that will do in return is create a better and tight nit community among us. Hopefully everyone will post helpful comments and we will all talk about stuff to help us make better websites and more money (which is almost the point of the site, heh). The plug-in resets once a month. So keep commenting :)

I will also be looking for more stuff to reward everyone that contributes to this blog :)

Also, remeber to join NewToTech before the big advertising starts :)

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

Great idea, Jon.

Even though I don’t post a lot of comments on your blog, I do enjoy seeing who the other people that are posting comments and see their sites.

I really enjoy talking to you on your new forum, newtotech.com. You have some great pointers.

Keep up the good work,
Bob Schmuck

I’ve been debating joining intellitext. Lemme know how it works out for you, do you make a decent amount per click?

Also, can you run it with adsense? I’ve heard mixed answers to that.

Colin,

You need alot of traffic to be able to use intellitext just so you know. I was going to apply but they require a very high amount of traffic per month. Jon dosn’t have to worry about traffic though :)

What revenue are we looking at for the new advertiser. Are they paying well?

Kyle,

I just noticed the 500k impression requirement, I’m not quite there yet :D

Are there any other similar services that don’t require as much traffic but aren’t shady?

Talking about adverts… Will you ever be offering advertising spots on your blog, Jon?

@Wes: As far as i’m concerned InteliTXT does comply with Google Adsense’s policy. I have heard about some big boys getting CPM deals from them though. (ie John Chow)

you can change the colour of InteliTXT ads. The green colour does not look nice on your blog. You can have much more ctr using other colour that suits your site theme.

intellitxt works well on forums, on user generated content. If you wanna see intellitxt in action on forums, see the forums

Can you mix intellitxt with google adsense? I would like to run both on my websites.

Too bad intellitxt didn’t work out for you (read that in a more recent post). Maybe try Kontera.

Anyhow, the top blog commenter plug-in sounds like a good idea.
