Ok listen up. I need a new phone. My current razar one got dropped in the toilet by a drunk girl at a club, it was never the same since that incident. I also need a phone where I can keep current with my daily stats, make sure my servers are online, make sure automated scripts are running, check orders, IM with people, check weather, and check my stocks (which are killing it this month fyi). I also want a phone with a normal browser, unlike that shitty WAP shit on the razar. So basically, I need a phone that can do it all.
The iphone
Right now I am currently with t-mobile, so getting a Iphone will mean I have to get a cracked one of ebay. So thats not a problem. I like the Iphone, it seems to have all the fatures I need for my business. Plus all the kool internet marketers have an iphone. I have played with a few iphones and liked them. The only problem is that they are huge to carry around. Its like carrying around my zune. But I can get used to it.
The blackberry
A lot cheaper. Looks like I can pick one up on ebay for under 100$. Which I like! The only problem I have is that I have never played around with one, so I don’t know how the phone works and such. I want to make sure to easily check stats and such, so the browser has to be easy to use. I may have to stop in the local t-mobile place today and check one out and see how I like it.
Any other suggestions?
Maybe you guys have somemore suggestions for me? If you do let me know. I need to get a new phone this month before I start traveling a lot, so I will have to buy it this week sometime. Let me know your suggestions in the comments.
Mini Marketing Backend
So has anyone made a serverside backend which you guys can log into using your phones to check stats, orders, daily rev, and all that fun stuff? I will probably make a mini one when I do get this new phone. It will be great to wake up in the middle of the night, check your phone to make sure everything is going great, and then go back to bed. Anyone have anything like this?

I’d definately take an iphone over blackberry for usability and functionality, I believe iPhone2 release date is being announced tomorrow (Monday), so I would wait for that
Coming from a person who has used both the iphone and the blackberry I would have to say go with the blackberry.
I would look into the curve and the 8800 series (they each have 3 different models.)(although I had the pearl it isn’t great, but its small and gets the job done you may want to look into it.) Each model has a few differences and it will depend on your needs. (If I remember correctly the 8820 is the best the only downside is unlike the curve, and every other phone on the planet, the 8800 series has no camera.)
Blackberry has a better selection
Blackberry has better support
Blackberry are easier to type on
Blackberry is more rugged
etc
oh, and if you need a final incentive why not to get a iphone, read this.

Nokia N95 does everything you want.
Blackberrys are for tie wearing tossers and iPhones are for posers.
Sony Ericsson FTW =)
Wait for an Android Phone.
If you’re not familiar with Android, its Google’s open source mobile operating system that will launch later this year. T-Mobile has already announced they will have an Android enabled phone by the end of 2008.
With Android, you’ll be able to download applications for free… open source apps produced by 3rd parties. Unlike the iPhone, ANYbody can create applications for Android. One example now is called AndroidScan… you’ll be able to take a picture of a barcode while in a store and it will pop up with a list of online retailers and nearby stores (based on your current location) that sell the same product for cheaper.
Tons of info on Android Phones at: http://phandroid.com
If you’re going to get a blackberry, I would go for the Blackberry Bold. The new, full touchscreen blackberry called the thunder - http://blackberrythunder.net - will come out later this year to rival the iPhone but it is only available on Verizon Wireless.
Sony Ericsson has the Xperia and Paris coming out but I’m not sure which carriers they’ll go on.
The coolest part of Android is, as you suggested, people could write their own applications for Affiliate Marketers and download them (easily and freely) to their Android Phone.
If I were you… I would seriously, seriously, seriously wait for Android to drop. That shit is going to be SICK NASTY.
Hmm, I really like that android idea, but the blackberry is lookin good too. I will keep doing some research and let you know my choice when I make it.
I have a blackberry. I check stats and have hooked up it with email pretty much with ease. i want an iphone just for the cool factor but decided it wasn’t worth it.
The blackberry just says you mean business. I would go with the Blackberry if you are more about the functionality vs. the flashiness of it.(Iphone)
You can not go wrong with the Blackberry. It is a fantastic gadget. You will not regret getting one.
Blackberry is amazing for text messaging. havent used it too much with IM’s but im sure its good with it. Surfing the web is a annoying some times, but for a phone its decent. You would have to get opera mini though. I love that my email is one button push away at all times. takes pictures. and i put a card in it for music/video/ect.
i go the blackberry becuase i was afraid typing on the touch screen keyboard on the iphone would be a pain in the ass. I tried it once and didnt like it much. Im sure if i had one though i would get used to it.
Get a shadow or a wing, Just got the wing, and it’s pretty slick. Got a nice promotional deal with it too and only 1 year contract
The blackberry is pretty functional, but kind of clunky to operate that little keypad. Apple just released a new iPhone today that is half as much and twice as fast, plus they released the iPhone SDK so they have 3rd party apps now. I’ve played with both and the iPhone is RIDICULOUSLY easy to use.
Any comparisons I’ve read between the iPhone and the N95 seem to be a case of form vs function. With the N95 winning out on the function side. I liked the N95 because of the GPS, but now it looks like the new iPhone will have that as well. I tend to think Apple overprices it’s stuff, and prefer and wait to see what the imitators come up with.
Shit… do you want to check things in the middle of the night… you are crazy. Good sleep is priceless.
I think Blackberry is better
