The GIMP not only will cut it, it does cut it. Unless you are doing crazy amounts of CIA level photo manipulation, GIMP is more than enough. Ubuntu Rocks. I have a few macs, a couple PC's and a server on Ubuntu.. Free software is the SHIT

I have two PCs - one for making sites and kinda general purpose which runs XP and the other which is for installing and testing scripts etc which is Ubuntu. The Ubuntu box I got for $30 on eBay and it stays on all the time - runs as a server and sits in my basement. I access it via TightVNC and have the /var/www directory setup as a share so if I am writing a PHP script I can work from that dir on my XP machine and easily run the script in my browser. XP and Ubuntu each have advantages. The one thing I am not interested in however is Vista.

Ubuntu is definately the most user-friendly penguin distro. I just wish Canonical would name one of their releases, "Teabagged Turtle". That would really make my day.
