JonWaraas.Com September Income Report

Mr. Chow made 20k off his blog in September. Holy crap that is a lot of money off of a blog. I remember his blog even before he started advertising it using digg.com and such. That was more than a year ago, and it has been a year now exactly since he started monetizing his blog and started earning great money from it. Making him xx,xxx a month in profit.

One of the reasons that Mr. Chows’ site is so successful is because he discloses how much he makes off of his blog. So from learning from the blogging pros, Ive decided to tell all of you guys and gals how much I make off my blog every month, starting in September.

September was the first month that I actually tried monetizing my blog. One of the main reasons I write in my blog every month is because its fun, and I also use my blog to help my other network sites rank better in the SERPS, you dont know how much it helps websites rankings. I have never really cared about making money from it until last month. If you can make an extra 1k a month doing something you love, than why not go for it? So last month I redesigned my blog and offered paid advertising in the form of banners and private text link ads sales in hopes of making some monies from the internets. So here is the stats for last month.

Private Text Link Sales: $160

Private Banner Ad Sales: $100

Affiliate Sales: $40 (ish)

So the month of September made me $300 in profit, since it costs me nothing to produce. I am not happy with that number. If you don’t know me by now, I love to set goals for myself. So my goal next month is to make $600 off JonWaraas.Com. How will I do that? I will sell a few more text link ads, sell the last banner spot, and then start doing ReviewMe’s. However, I don’t really like Reviewme ads, so I will limit that number to only a few a month. Quality over quality for me.

I will also be working on increasing readers and traffic this month also. With some paid traffic and some sneaky free traffic ways, I should be able to get somemore decent traffic. Wish me luck :)

If you enjoyed this blog post than I think you should subscribe to the RSS feed. That way you can learn a lot more from me and laugh some more at my really bad grammar. Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

I’ve been mulling over whether or not to put a few banners and buttons up on People You’ll See In Hell….the only problem in my mind is whether or not people would actually be interested in purchasing adspace on a site that was created after Google’s last pagerank (so it has a PR of 0 until the next update).

Of course I do see 200+ unique visitors a day, but are they the type of visitors that people who spend money online would like to reach?

Anyone? Anyone? lol

I also remember John’s greenish block a year ago. He made me to discover your block, when I moved to next level of the internet marketing.

300 is good enough at least its not dropping. I think your goal should be 1k, 600 seems to be too little.

Internets monies!!!

Hehe, I personally hate it when I see a blog stuffed with affiliate offers, TLA adverts, banners etc.. It makes me question if they are writing content for user benefit, or just link baiting for ad revenue.

Obviously, this isn’t true of you, Jon. However, first impressions to new comers could suffer? I’ve resisted putting ads on digeratimarketing, however, I do put the occassional affiliate link when it’s relevant in a blog post when I’m referring to something. Even then, I normally mark it “aff link” to let people know.. Just my 2c.

You have one of the best blogs to read around. It’s always interesting and not the same old shit other people blog about. You should have no problem bringing in more money.

Uh, it DOES cost you something to produce: Your time. You always have to look at what you could be doing that could make you more money in the long run. Yes, if it helps your sites, etc. then it’s probably worth it.

Hey Jon,

I’m surprised that you made only $300 here. Maybe you should post more often.
