The most valuable asset to an entrepreneur is his or her time. The more time I spend working online, the more money I make. So why doesnt everyone work out and eat right to keep themselves in shape and become more successful? Im not completely sure. Its weird to see fellow entrepreneurs blog about not having even enough energy to do there daily tasks?
Its strange because I have to much energy during the day. Now I admit that I dont spend 10 hours a day working online, but I do manage to spend about 4-6 hours a day working online, which equals to about 35 hours a week. But I do manage to get a lot of other stuff packed into my day. Last week I bought a truck to make into a offroad rig, I have been working on that for about 3-4 hours everyday. I also go work out about 3 times a week. Run everyday. Do the random stuff during the day, and I still have energy left over at the end of the day, so much that its hard for me to fall asleep.
Im not in anyway saying that I am a very busy person, which I’m not. What Im saying is that I have enough energy to do my daily tasks and keep my online work going. Which is very easy to do.
If you are lacking energy, here is what I do to keep my energy up. I make sure I go running everyday, I think I run about a mile, but its enough to get the heart pounding at least. I also drink a lot of water, I drink about 5x 20 oz. bottles a day, however I drink like 8 mt dews a day so that kinda cancels each other out (If you see me I usually have something to drink in my hand). What helps the most is going and working out 3 days a week. I go to MMA practice every Monday and wednesday, after practise I go and lift weights and do cardo. I also go an extra day and lift after that.
Doing those things I listed has helped me with my energy, so If you dont feel like working and just sitting around, go work out, you will like it. However, if your our of shape, its gonna be hard to get into shape, you just have to stick with it.
Lets review, try these things to help if you need more energy:
1. Run everyday
2. water!
3. work out few days a week
If that dosent help then try working on your eating and sleeping habbits. I hope this info helps, if anyone has anymore info on how to increase energy, feel free to comment ![]()

yeah working out does help out alot, even doing any type of exercise helps out!
Mile? It’s like 4-5 blocks isn’t it?
Yeh, i’ve noticed that running helps a lot
I need to try this..
Anyway I workout only in fitness and it’s been a while since my last visit!
Probably that’s the reason I can’t come anywhere..
take care, regards
Sweet advice, I should start to do some of this stuff.
I have a whole unopened case of “Cocaine” energy drink. It tastes like crap, and by crap I mean liquid cherry flavored medicine, and also gives off a numbing sensation in your throat that is more spicy than numbing. Point is, 2 or 3 sips of it, and you are ready to accomplish anything. There is something like 3x the amount of caffiene in the 8.5oz can than in a double grande latte from Starbucks. It also says something to the tune if you drink more than 3 of them in a day you can die? Gotta love drinks that can kill you! If anyone wants the extras, email me and I’ll send them to ya.
Jon - that works good if your not used to caffie. I drink so much pop that it dosent even hit me if I drink a energy drink.
Hey man, I totally agree that one needs to balance their life with on and offline activities to stay most efficient. I notice I have been slacking off on working out lately, and that definitely takes a toll on me and my ability to work proficiently.
Great advice Jon. You gotta get off the mountain dew though. Soft drinks will turn you into a a fat ass over time and you won’t even notice. I stopped drinking them a long time ago and it made a big difference. It takes time, but an easy way is to slowly decrease over time.
Yes I know, I am addicted, and your right, it does make you get fat.. as long as I work out I think I will be fine. I also eat healthy, the only non helthy thing I do is drink pop..
Another thing you can do is listen to music while working. It will keep your brain active.
Also, its best to stare at something far away every minute of so. Just a quick glance. This will help keep your eyes from getting tired.
Running is great. I don’t really lack the energy, my problem is organization for maximum efficiency. Music actually helps me with that. I turn it on and get my butt to work.
It’s good to see you blog about something different from the norm of sites and online tasks.
I agree Sara… Music is my medicine and running is good too…
I must admit I’m not as fit as you.. well there were phases when i played soccer once a week, went to the gym twice, and did yoga once a week but I’m too busy right now.. I do walk a lot.
The thing about going to the gym is that you need to adjust your schedule to it. When I go to the gym I go hard - so I need to schedule it perfectly so I’m at the gym 3 hours after a meal with plenty of water, adn the timing is often hard when I have stuff to do into the evenings..
But I NEVER suffer from lack of energy, probably because I have a foundation of decent health, and I have a very good sleep cycle (7 or 8 hours a day, DEEP).
Geez, 8 Mountain Dews!!! I don’t think the water cancels that out. For the amount of sugar and syrup Dews have, you would have to run atleast 3-4 times a week for about 20-30 minutes. But with all the other stuff you got going on, it should work its self out.
Rest (aka sleep) is almost as important as actually working out. I have issues trying to get that 7-8 hrs in, great job!
Great advice, I started working out 5 days a week last year and I saw a huge difference in my energy. I also have an issue with drinking about 5 dr. peppers a day though!
theres lots of energy in fast food :P, just too bad you get it all in one hit, then feel like crap for the rest of the day
I run and workout everyday, and when I start slacking I feel a decrease in energy. Haha it must be those mountain dews (those things are addicting) its my favorite drink. But having a job like you would be awesome. Having all the free time to do whatever your heart desires.
I work out every other day and I feel super refreshed afterwards.
Can’t I just watch those workout videos and get excited and pretend i’m getting exercise?
Simple solution to our energy problems. Charge more for gas so people ride their bikes or walk.
