Cool one Jon, I'll definitely give it a bash.

@Scot - Yes, Wordpress does do that each time you publish, but this gives you the ability to choose the long tail title post you'd like to have crawled, you might want to do this if you update a post with new content or if your site doesn't run on Wordpress, in fact, there are hundreds of reasons to use this even if you're pinging 1000 sites in Wordpress :)

Yeah its under writing in the wp settings. You can add as many rpc ping sites as you want on there. It sends a ping to all of the services every time you post. Its a great feature.

But like I was saying before, this is just the start platform for a script that will do much more ;)

Not trying to be funny but isn't there an option in Wordpress control panel to add as many sites as you like to ping? (Maybe inside of Pingomatic I'm too lazy to look)

Regardless this is still cool for sites that aren't run on Wordpress. Thanks.

Yes it does. But this tool pings the same services as pingomatic plus a few more. It is also the foundation for social bookmarks and rolling sitemaps.
