Some Exciting Shit
October 19th, 2007 by Jon Waraas

Hey readers sup?

I got some exciting shit I’m working on right now. As of right now I’m working on my seo empire. I ordered a server last month and my server admin got everything set up on it so its ready to go. I bought the server from Softlayer special page, I love softlayer and I recommend them to everyone. But anyways, this last week I have been working on tools for my seo emprire, and thanks so much to Wes Mahler for always helping me with my shitty programming. He is the shit at programming btw! With that said I should have my mini empire launched next week sometime with about 200 websites (mostly .com,.net, and .orgs). I probably spent 1k on getting it ready, and the sad thing is that I wont be seeing much money come back from it. I want the spider traffic from the network more than the money from it, but you know all sites have to pay there own rent.

So here is the deal. I will be selling text links on specific pages to people willing to purchase them. I have about 200 websites with niches on poker, mortgages, health, and random domains I had laying around. I’m not sure on the prices yet, I’ll work on that later. If your interested send me an email using the contact form and I will get a hold of you when I get everything running smoothly.

Also, here are the server specs…

Single Processor Dual Core Opteron 170 – 2.00GHz – 2 x 1MB cache
2 GB DDR
2 x 250GB SATA II
————————
$159.00/month

Monetizing this blog.
I figured out a way to make some extra cash off blogging/helping people out. I wont go into specifics yet, but its a really cool process and it will help a lot of people out. If everything works right I should be able to pull in more money than John Chow every month. I haven’t started the work but I have everything written down, I think I will be able to launch this sometime next month. I will keep everyone posted.

Generate more sales.
After reading Lazy Owner I had an idea how to generate more sales using visual sales pitches. On Buy Blog Comments I will be making a video of myself telling everyone how exactly Buy Blog Comments works and how its going to save you time and money. It should only be a few minutes long, but also should help increase sales. Why haven’t I though of that before? I love it when I can see a video of how exactly the process works when I order stuff online. So if this works successfully, I will probably do it for my other e-commerce sites. I will tell everyone how it works out.

Text Link Ads.
Well after google announced that they were going to penalize sites that sold text links, I only gotten like 2 sales since than. So its back to the drawing board on that. However, 2 days ago I put my mad programming making skills to work and made a custom text link ad manager, so I will probably be selling text links on my own through my network again. I will probably sell links on specific words, but we will have to see if I can program that good :) Also if your interested, Im still having the $99.99 text link sales. You text link will be on the nav of about 18 websites. Thats something like 600,000 page views every month. More info on that here.

Case Study
In a few days, probably after the weekend, I will write my case study about running Buy Blog Comments. I will tell everyone what I have been doing, how sales are, and were I’m going with the company. Stay tuned :)

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

You’re a 1 step ahead of the 30 day tutorial man! The next lesson is on video sales presentation. You already took the podcast stuff to the next level.

Interested to hear how you’re monetizing this blog. I like how you build the anticipation on this blog for the stuff you’re doing.

Make more money through your blog than John Chow’s? How can that be possible? Not through just advertising I suspect?
