I have been sick for only 2 days and look what happens. Tookle was getting like 12$ a day, and how its like at 7$ a day. I think we all know how the quantity over quality ads went. I put up 3 ads on every page instead of 1 ads unit on every page. And the daily revenue dropped 4$ or so. What happens is that if you have only 1 ad unit on a page, that one ad unit will show the highest bidders. If you show all the ads, you might get more clicks, but your CPM will go down. Another thing that hasn’t helped at all is that the site I advertised on now shows about 20 ads. When I signed up for that site, there where only 4 or 5. Don’t know what happen there, haha.
Now since the tookle experiment is coming to an end, Im going to put yahoo publisher ads on the site for 2 days, which will be sunday and Monday. Then on Tuesday Im going to put google ads up and also put it up on the network. I will keep you guys updated for the rest of this week on the site. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask. I haven’t hide anything from you guy expect the CPM, clicks, and CTR of Google AdSense. haha.

I’m such a dumbass! On DeveloperHut.Com I had my cell phone, the company’s P.O. Box, emails, and my name linking to my blog on that site. What a dumbass am I? After the mini chase I learned my lesson. I took down all the info and I added a contact form on there. I also made that site, and another 5 sites private whois so they cant look up that info. I should have done that sooner, but at least I learn from my mistakes. I admit that was the dumbest thing to do!
Another thing I have learned. Never ever tell people how much you make. I have been guilty of this also. Back when I was on my ego trip I had a little section on my blog that said how much I make a day. That is no ones business. I took that off and it will never go back up. Now I know a lot of bloggers have the same little section that says now much they make a day, what they made last month, and what there goal is, etc. Im not saying to take it off, but it would be a good idea. There are just so many people that try to rip people off its not even funny.

So what was your bad experience with exposing how much you make? or there wasn’t any?
Same thing with your information being out there, anything happened with that? Lol, you just said that its ways of protecting yourself but didnt say if those two actually affected you :p
The reason im telling everyone is because of this counter with the guy that wants to sue because I honked a horn.
If he say how much I make, then he would want to sue me. That is why I say Im not going to publicly tell people how much I make.
And the reason why I changed the phone numbers, addresses, names, etc on developerhut is because they went to that site and got my personal info off there. Then left voicemails.
Im just protecting myself somemore. There isnt a big reason, I just want to be safe…

Adding more ads didn’t result in a ~$4 drop. Look at the impressions – your traffic bombed
I think it’s a bit early days to do this kind of quality over quantity experiment with ads. Because the traffic fluctuates so much that it’s hard to draw any conclusion.
What I will say is I guess a lot of it has to do with the type of niche the site is in. If you have a large number of advertisers then adding more ad units will probably be better, because you have enough quality inventory to fill the space. If it’s in a niche such as Tookle, where there is naturally a shortage of quality ads then adding more ad units might not work so well.
So, I guess the real conclusion should be to experiment and see what works best.
While I completly agree about not giving away too much sensitive information on the internet I have to add that perhaps if you weren’t acting like an ass and trying to “scare people” this wouldn’t have happened in the first place?
