There have been a lot of bloggers redesigning their blogs lately. Infact I even jumped onto the bandwagon. Some of them are fricken sweet, some need to be redesigned again. But we can all say that these 5 new blog designs are the best out of the batch. So I will help everyone out on there indecisiveness and choose which blogs are the top 5 entrepreneur redesign blogs (of my buddies). All these blogger are my buddies and I have talked to them in some form before, so if you recently redesigned your blog and your not on this list? Than you’re probably not on my rss reader either.

Welp here it goes:

5th Place. Shoemoney
shoemoney
This design is not much different than his previous one. Im sure the reason be is because he didn’t want to confuse his readership that much, but I still think he should have put somemore design into it. It looks sooo 2005. We’re in web 2.0 now. And that is the reason he comes in last on our list.

4th place. Nate Whitehill
nate
This guy is behind 2 of the redesigns here. He owns a blog web design company called Unique Blog Designs. With 2 of the top entrepreneur blog redesigns under his belt, it looks like he is doing good for himself. And his own blog redesign shows that. The only reason why I didn’t place his blog higher was because I personally didn’t like the colors..and the text is too small for me. Other than that.. Props Nate.

3rd place. John Chow
john chow
John Chow is my buddie, I’ve known him for 2 years now. But his new blog redesign needs a little bit of work. The things I dont like about the site is the lack of design, the colors, the logo and ads look blurry to me, and there are too many ads. The reason why John was ranked in the top 3 was because of his huge change from a free simple wordpress design to a nice custom blog design. I love the footer on the new design though, that is really bad ass.

2nd place. Lazy Owner
lazy business owner
I love the web 2.0 feel (really simple) and the design put into the redesign. I love the header picture with the fat lazy guy sitting on a chair. The glossy logo at the top is awesome too. However, I think the footer needs some work and he needs to make the links a blue color so people can tell links from text. But besides that he did a great job :)

1st place. John Cow
John Cow
This guys’ redesign kicks the shit out of all the others. This guy has a huge lead. The redesign rocks! Its simple yet has a lot of design added to it. I can spot anything I dont like about it. The designer did a great job, and the logo looks great. Mad props to John Cow for this design.

I should add that even though I criticized all the designs pretty heavily.. they all kick my new redesigns ass hehe. But mine only cost me $200. I bet they all paid over $500 for theres (except Nate, that designed his own blog). Good job guys.

If you enjoyed this blog post than I think you should subscribe to the RSS feed. That way you can learn a lot more from me and laugh some more at my really bad grammar. Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

While I am obviously a bit biased, I think I would have to agree for the most part in that order. I do like the Cow design the most.

And I’m actually glad that you had the critique about the links. It was something I was thinking about changing but now I’m sure I need to change it.

I’m in the process of trying to redesign my blog. I was running a very slight mod of MistyLook and now I’ve completely hacked up another theme: http://www.eurekadiary.com.

Apparently designing isn’te my forte haha. Any/all suggestions welcome and maybe with your help I’ll crack Jon’s RSS Feed and the next “best blog redesign” list!

Ive been meaning to redesign my blog for a while now.

Knowing me, it wont happen for another 6 months probably.

My opinion on those so called ‘professional’ blogs above like shoe money and john chow…….the focus is longer on the content. Its all glitz and ads and colors. I personally prefer muted tones with a focus DIRECTLY on written content….

but that’s just me.

Nate did the redesign on http://DidYouSmellThat.com , 3 days after JohnChow.com

As you can see, it’s far superior, with its own TV station built right in. Nate is a genius!

:) Happy to say it was me. Thanks for writing about John Cow’s theme and selecting it over others. It was a huge re-design task and it came out well in the end. Also, the character designer, sosfactory.net, did an amazing job.

Thanks again.

I have to agree that johncow is the best among the others, both the 2nd and the 3rd ones are pretty good in my opnion.
