Top Affiliate Challenge – Send The Affiliates Back To McDonalds Please
July 3rd, 2008 by Jon Waraas

Hey guys, what do you call an realty internet TV series with a very low budge, bad planning, and a horrible cast? The top affiliate challenge! I had to think about posting the blog post, because the show is so bad that I don’t think it deserves any recognition at all. But everyone is blogging about it so I might as well.

First off, John Chow is my buddy, Ive known him for a long time. I respect him and feel bad that he is on that show, even though it doesn’t look like he really wants to be there too much from what I’ve seen on the show. But all the other contestants are pretty much newbies to affiliate marketing. Such as Ian Fernando (who doesn’t even do affiliate marketing full time, he works a full time job and does affiliate marketing as a hobby *cough* blogger *cough*), there is also shoemaker who had to have people fill out his offers for him, Jonathan Ryan which is brand new too affiliate marketing, and the list could go on and on of all the newbies on that show. However, they do have Jonathan Van Clute which says he pushed 100k plus traffic to his offers, I guess we will see won’t we.

I mean fucken come on, why would you make a show with a bunch of bloggers that don’t even do affiliate marketing full time? Why not make a show with actual talent so the viewers can actually learn something from. Instead of making a show with a very very low budget video editing cast, horrible graphics, and a bad host that reads her lines off the floor.

Now lets talk about how the show is set up. There overall goal is to make as much money as possible with $0 budget. Ok its not really affiliate marketing with a $0 budget. I think you call the $0 budget people spammers? But thats kool. So how much money did these gurus make the first day? $200!!!! Shit son even I make more than that a day… does that mean I’m a guru now? So how did they make that $200? Well Super affiliate shoegotluckyoncemaker had the money put in his account (bahahahaha loser), and the rest had there friends fill out the offers for them…

What a waste of my life watching those two 40 min. videos. I didn’t learn a thing.

Ok now lets get onto the point. Why the hell do we want this top affiliate challenge show representing our industry? People are going to watch this show and think that the top affiliates of our industry are making $200 a day! And the have there friends fill out the leads for them. Wtf? Take this show off google video please and send the “affiliates” back to there day jobs.

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

i agree the show is among newbies, me categorizing among them is not even close. I do affiliate marketing, but I can say I know much more than alot of the contestants (affiliate/PPC wise), beside van clute – he is a very smart guy from the conversations we have.

i know what van clute is doing to drive traffic, trust me it is mostly crap traffic. if you knew the source, you could drive that much very easily.

haha no, but i just saw the 1st episode about how he was bragging about bringing in so much traffic. Its annoying because, im in a private forum with him and 2 months ago he was complaining that he couldnt figure out pay per click.

There is alot of volume with the source, but the qulity is so bad that its worth about 1/100 of a google search visitor.

OK…this will be honest post.

The show is not hot.
But the host is VERY HOT.

I’m not very hot on the show.
But I’m VERY HOT on the host.

Van…whatever is NOT hot with his bragging I’m even hotter than him!

Peace.

Funny stuff, teams of five people making 200 dollars! That’s some kind of record. All this and I thought I as a newbie!

Okay, you guys all sound like you’re pretty hot. Take what you know, and start a brand new site. Start from ground zero, and try to make $200 in one day! Then, post what you did, the results, and we’ll see who the REAL Top Affiliate Marketer is.

How is that for a challenge?

Nice comment about the hostess reading her lines from the floor. Boy is she way over her head. Did you see when she told the first person eliminated to pack their bags and leave the state of Nebraska? Damn that’s bad. Must of got her off of Craig’s List. Now that’s affiliate marketing.

I wish they showed more on how they do things. If they do a second season of it maybe it will get better and they will learn what they are doing wrong.
