A few people have asked me how a network helps, and what it does, and why do you have so many websites. Actually that last question has been in my head the last few weeks. But I will answer that later.
A network is all in the name itself. A network is a network of websites that a formed for a reason. Most people have network of websites that range in different markets. Such as Ifroggy Network. The there are some networks that cover only one kind of market. There are also blog networks. Like Bloggy Network, Weblogs Inc, and B5 Media.
Most networks are out to make money. Just like a franchise. Some people have the great idea that more is better. Such as me, mcdonalds, and the Russians. I believe that I will make more money covering a wide range of markets, and I will be more secure that way also. However there are some people who totally disagree with me there. But I will go my way, and they will go there way 
The reasons why networks work so well for us is because we can sell ad spots easier. We are like out own Google Adsense. There is one network, The Tech Zone Network, that handles all of there own advertisers, they don’t use middle men like Adsence or YPN. So that network is basically ad network as well.
Another huge advantage for owning a network of website is have the link farm that goes with it. If I have a new website coming out, all I need to do is add the link to a few high PR websites and then the website will be in Google the next day. I have my website PhpBB Hacks and that website is already getting a few hundred uniques from site searches just by having the link on a few high page ranked websites. That website isn’t even done yet.
One this I have tried is adding the network toolbar you see on the top of this blog. It help keeps the traffic within the network. Say someone stumbles upon this website and they look through the network toolbar and find a few more websites that he or she likes. They will add 2 or 3 websites to there favorites instead of one.
So that is how a network of websites work. There are a variety of type of network, and everyone uses there network for different reasons…
Also, I would like to proudly launch another one of my websites today! This website is for all you tech people out there. This website will be updated daily with tech and gadget news, reviews, gossip and more. The website is Gadgets! There is some really good content on there right now. And like I said before, it will be updated daily. All I have left to do is get a design for it

Good post Jon, totally agree with you not putting all your eggs in one basket (market).
