You Have A Collect Call From..hhhhoooollll heeeehh.. Darth Vader!

A few months ago I had my “ad targeting” on YPN turned off because I was sending low quality traffic to the advertisers (its called myspace traffic hehe). That means I cant put mortgage ads on my myspace websites anymore..which I was doing. I would get great payouts, but I know it wasn’t converting for the advertisers. I would get paid $0.50 per click, then send the user to a mortgage lead, and then they would leave the landing page without doing anything, making the advertiser loose money.

Enough about the specifics. The last 2 months I have been working less and less on my main network sites “Developer Hut, Inc.”. I do work a lot on my “seo sites” and I also do have another form of revenue that kicks the shit out of both combined, but I wont tell you, because that would mean more competition hehe. Maybe Ill make an ebook and sell it to you all. hehe im evil. But anyways, since I haven’t been working on Developer Hut, Inc. the revenue has gone to steady but crappy daily profit. Its still a decent number, but nothing like last year when we were getting paid $1 plus per click.

Now guess what, Yahoo Publisher Network is down to around $0.12 per click. Still better than Google Adsense, but it still sucks. I would actually prefer to use Google Adsense (except I dont like them) because with Adsense I would be getting a lot more clicks because the ads are relevant.

I just realized the blog post is just me rambling, I’m sorry I dont tell you how to make money at home. But I am tellin you all that its probably not a good idea to fork over $1200 for a account anymore. They are still accepting people into beta, my roommate cody got in. This gives me an idea, I should try adbrite on ALL of my content sites, maybe I will make more with that..? Ill test it.

But yeah, did anyone watch the new Robot Chicken Star Wars Edition? It was the fucken funniest thing ever! Its a trap! Take that George Washington! Tacos rule! You have a collect call from… hhhhoooollll heeeehh .. darth vader! LOL go watch it, you will get what im saying.

The “hhhhoooollll heeeehh” is my attempt at the Darth Vader breathing sounds. :)

Definitely a ramble, but looking deeply there’s something in there for all of us.

Yeah….the YPN ads are WAYYY off-base, not usually relevant at all.

You are a one-hit wonder like Andrew from MySpaceSupport - you two got lucky throwing up a MySpace site when the market wasn’t as flooded as it is now — no talent (look at all of the other sites you two tried to start but fail), and soon enough you’ll have no money left. Good day.

Is YPN really that bad these days? 12 cent clicks? I had an account from June 06 to November 06, was making like $1.00 per click, and then received a similar notification about sending low quality traffic.

My account wasn’t turned off though, it was closed.

I’m geting paid 75 cents to 2 bucks a click still.. it depends what you target, if you target certain insurance/cancer or whatever else - you make good cash..

My traffic wasn’t from MySpace, but the YPN ads were on an arcade website and the traffic was from other arcade websites. I, like John, was targeting insurance/legal ads. I knew I would probably get banned, but at $600-$700/day for an mediocre arcade site, I couldn’t resist

You really need to think about where your traffic is coming from an what sort of sites would suit that traffic.

The major SE are the best source of traffic.
