YPN Welcomes Paypal
May 30th, 2007 by Jon Waraas

YPN went down for 3 hours last night, only to do back online with more features..and one of those features is pretty sweet. You can now get paid from Yahoo Publisher Network with Paypal. Its a pretty good way to get paid if your a small timer that makes a few hundred dollars a month, but after that I rather wait the 3 days and not have to pay a middle man for my money.

I was worried that YPN would start to go downhill since they have been kicking people out like crazy, they are also in talks with Microsoft for a buy-out (not sure if they are anymore). But this confirms that they are still working on there system, and another step to open up to international.

I have been finding it increasly hard to convert my traffic these days with Yahoo. They are displaying Mortgage ads on my humor sites, and all my sites are like that. So I am in a process of testing a xml feed advertiser with decent payouts, but the xml ads tend to load slow, they don’t show up till the whole page loads. Which decrease the CTR of the page…I would use adsense, but everyone should no by now that I was kicked out of Adsense for abri. Because of that, I don’t support Google and I am slowly moving all my services.. which include stats and email… too other websites. If you have any suggestions for a google free stat program, comment about it :)

Follow me on my journey of success and failures, it should be a fun ride.... Again, here is the link for the RSS feed.

It seems funny that these huge sites are leaving their greatest money maker out in the dust. Imagine if a site came along that showed truly relevant ads.

Jon,

If you haven’t checked it out, you should take a look at http://www.haveamint.com/ for a stats program. It really is sweet, even though it isn’t free.

I was getting more per click with Yahoo, but I got SO frustrated with the oddly low CTR and the impossible ads they were matching to my sites. It was a mess. I make less with Adsense, but I can totally count on a particular amount each month and that’s nice.

Now another ten years for adsense to do the same…
